Can you believe 7 weeks! The bummer is I'm not walking yet. The good news is i am closer and closer. I am being very diligent about my excercises, even here. i crutched it some the first day and then I got a scooter. It is easier on me and easier on my family. The down side is that I really can't go on many rides cause of the crutches. But I have been on most of them before and will come back again. Eric and Rachel (who are with us) have never been before and they are having a blast and that is the most important thing. I hate using the scooter cause it is a little humiliating, but it does make it so much easier and I am never going to see any of these people again. Today the family is at Epcot and I stayed back at the hotel. Animal Kingdom tomorrow and I wanted to get my foot unswollen so I can go the whole day. Epcot is my least favorite park, although I have never done "soarin"...next time.
The parks are more crowded than I would have expected and i am glad we made reservations cause most places are not taking walk up diners at all. This is one thing i have to remember next time, make dining reservations 5 to 6 months out. I always forget. I did do it 3 months ahead and had trouble then.
Alhough I am glad for the October break, I miss the lassez-faire days of just taking my kids out of school in early December, when it is really dead here. Maybe I'll do that again. Next time I will be walking! It is nice to be here with older kids. i see all the parents with the crying, overstimulated, need a nap youngsters and I told John, "i am so over that, I am so glad that is not me." This is one of the first times I felt we could go at it all day and stay for the night parade and fireworks.
I have cheated and walked a few steps with my boot on and no crutches. I can't estimate how much weight I put on it, but it was some. It didn't kill me. After we get back I have my next appt and I am hoping I will be cleared to walk.
Well going to the pool at the happiest place on earth.

Glad you sucked it up and went anyway! Hope you had a blast!!! We loved our trip when mom was in a wheelchair- first class, front door service all the way...
We're thinking about going this spring or next fall, so I am all ears for advice. Mouse ears, of course.
