We had a dusting of snow yesterday morning. The top of the mountain behind us was covered.
The beagle girls don't want to out to chase rabbits or do their business or anything. They lay by the roaring fire John built or go back to bed, curled up next to each other.
The trees that were green when I started this journey are now bare and we can see the house behind us that is hidden from February til November. Twilight is beautiful over the mountains. It is the most gorgeous shade of sapphire and then the moon appears and the diamond stars come out against the black frame of the bare trees.
I filled my birdfeeder and am getting a lot of cardinals. The hummingbirds are gone. I love watching the bird parade, even if John doesn't like the seed shells on the deck.
My hemlock that is over 30 feet tall off the deck is still alive. It is one of my favorite trees in the yard. so many hemlock have died. I hope the treatments save my friend, cause she is home to lots of squirrels and nests in the summer.
I am working on my annual Christmas Cards. I like to get them out right after Thanksgiving.
I have been walking up and down stairs and not double stepping. It is slow, but I am grateful to do it.
I am going downstairs now to work on the next 20. I am going to put logs in the woodstove and
enjoy the flames and peppermint tea while I create. Should I pour you a cup?

That sounds too cozy. Love it.
Your dogs are the laziest things in the world. Worse than me, even!
I saw the funniest Christmas cards today (she sells all kinds of things but I liked the cards) by Anne Taintor. You gotta check out her site.
Very cozy! I just had a cup of Jasmine green tea. Not my favorite but I like to try new teas.
Peppermint tea and a woodstove sounds good to me! I got a picture of a snow-touched mountain yesterday when I was doing the Meals on Wheels route - will have to get it out of the camera and onto the computer!
I'm still looking for my email about the coupons and such.
Hugs...
Chunkygal,
How lovely to have gotten your first snow ! I wish we could have some of that here...
It sounds beautiful, the trees in the twilight, the cardinals in the birdfeeder, and the roaring fire that John built with the dogs napping nearby...
I love peppermint tea after dinner. Yes please to the cup :)
How is the foot/ankle/walking going today ?
