Christmas Cards

Here are some of the Christmas cards I have made this year. They are actually the same card, just with different paper and embellishments. I really loved the way they turned out. It is one level 2 paper pack from Close to My Heart with one stamp set.

I love getting Christmas cards, I even love those oft maligned Christmas letters. So about 10 years ago I decided to start making my own cards to "save money".  I got into rubber stamping as a way to do this. I wish I had some of my early cards, they would probably make me laugh. 10 years and thousands of dollars later, I am still making my own cards. There is nothing cheap or frugal about it, but I think of each one as kind of a small gift for the season. The worst years are
when I get an idea, then start it and hate it and have to start all over at the last minute.

Well I have a fire going on this cold winter night and I am going to write notes in my cards so they will be ready to go on the day after Thanksgiving.

They're even prettier "in person" - says I who was priviledged to see them! I'm so excited about making cards this year - I'm doing Haley's "50 cards" class - because usually I make 5 or 6 and run out of time. So if you've ever gotten a handmade Christmas card from me, you are special indeed. This year, I plan to have one for everyone I know! And hopefully to get them mailed before 2009! Hugs...

They are indeed even prettier in person! I am amazed that it is the same basic card pattern, yet like snowflakes, no two are alike.

Thanks for being one of my CTMH crafting buddies!!!
